Mission

Team DC serves as an amateur athletic association with the goals of fostering greater participation in national and international amateur sports competition by the lgbt community. It endows and grants periodic scholarships to lgbt student-athletes pursuing post-secondary education. Team DC also educates the community at large on the achievements of lgbt athletes, seeking to eliminate animus, prejudice and discrimination directed against lgbt people and against their participation in sports. And team DC confers grants and stipends to lgbt teams seeking to prepare and compete in national or international amateur sports competitions.
