Youth Program FABUM

Youth Program FABUM will foster ongoing opportunities for young people interested in, and already involved in the arts. Every spring and fall, students from Washington-area schools will be selected to become ‘FABUM Associates’. We use the term 'associate' because of the diverse roles and activities students will be immersed in. The program offers a way to engage students in the creative process and connect them with artists and individuals in different artistic fields. By working directly with the artistic director, being involved in professional theatre productions, and assisting with visual arts events, students see first-hand how a non-profit arts organization operates, implements programming, garners and impacts audiences. Students who have been FABUM associates leave the program with an increased understanding of what it means to be a working artist, how a non-profit arts organization can affect communities and individuals, and what a career in the arts might look like.
